HI CR-001 Rejection – What Supporting Documents Do I Mail?

Hello,

After e-filing my Hawaii State Tax Return was rejected and I received the error message :

HICR-001 - [If Schedule CR Line 11 [Income Tax Paid To Other State Or Country] is greater than zero, then binary attachment(s) with the file name beginning with 'TaxPaidAnotherState' must be present]

I spoke with two TurboTax representatives but still need clarification.

When I mail my Hawaii State Tax Return, what binary attachment documents do I need to include?

Should I send copies of all my W-2 and 1099 forms, along with my California state tax return and Federal tax return?

I appreciate any guidance on the required attachments to ensure my mailed return is processed correctly.

Thank you!

Hawaii requires a copy of the other state's tax return for the Other State Credit.

If you're claiming the Foreign Tax Credit as well, Hawaii requires a copy of your Federal Form 1116 or payee statements showing foreign source income.
