Help Please! TT's final review asked for a manual figure entry - how do I get back to it???

Hi All,

I was 99% done taxes, on final State review (for Massachusetts) TT indicated I need to manually enter in an AGI figure which I did, likely incorrectly. My return immediately went from getting a refund to owing quite a bit. Now I can't get back to modify or research that figure. TT doesn't seem to let me see the actual forms filled out behind the scenes.

How do I manually see/edit my state filing to review/fix that figure?

Thank You!

If you have not yet paid for your tax returns, you can delete the state and start over. This will not affect your federal return.

  1. Select State from the left side menu.
  2. On the screen, Status of your state returns, click the trash can icon to the right of Massachusetts.
  3. Confirm that you want to delete it.
  4. Select Add another State and select Massachusetts.

Can you clarify what you were doing or entering when TurboTax asked for that AGI figure?   You can click on State Taxes (either on the left menu if using Online or up top if using the desktop software) to go back through your state return.   Then you may see the place it asked for it.

Also, if you are using the desktop software, you can click on Forms in the top right corner - you have direct access to all of your federal and state forms.   TurboTax Online doesn't have this feature, so you would need to print or view the forms from the Print Center.

Hello!

Yes. When I had finalized all inputs for my state tax return, TT indicated it was going to do a final review of my work. When complete, it indicated I had to manually fix 3 items, two with Health Care subscriber info, the 3rd with a tax figure associated with my AGI. The current figure was $0 and it suggested I enter in my gross wages for the year. I did so, and boom, it said I was all set and time to file. But, my taxes for state went from a refund to owing and there was no place to go back to edit that figure.

There was no 'menu' driven or graphical usage in TT to address/fix this figure.  So just 'seeing' this figure in a form won't help as I need to adjust the figure. I was going to 'start over' for my Massachusetts taxes, but there doesn't appear to be a way to 'just' clear state taxes, you seemingly have to start over on Federal as well and that'd be PAINFUL as I did a bunch of work in there.

Thoughts/ideas?

Thank You!
