Arizona requires certain individuals to make estimated income tax payments

You must make Arizona estimated income tax payments during 2023 if:

Your filing status is:         AND Your Arizona gross income for 2022 was greater than:       AND Your Arizona gross income for 2023 exceeds:

Single                                     $75,000                                                                                                   $75,000

Married filing Joint              $150,000                                                                                                 $150,000

Married filing single            $75,000                                                                                                   $75,000

Head of Household             $75,000                                                                                                   $75,000

You should use Form 140ES if you are mailing a voluntary or mandatory estimated payment,

Please check the instructions for Arizona Form 2023 140ES for details on how and when you need to file this form.

It's hard to tell.  I'm unable to generate a screen displaying O/P, as you describe, but to get back to relevant section of TurboTax Online to address the $150,000 income issue:

  1. Select Tax Home in the left pane
  2. On the Hi, let's keep working on your taxes! screen, select the dropdown on the right side of the State Taxes box, then select StartContinue, or Review/Edit
  3. If the You've already got a head start on state taxes screen appears, select Let's get started.  Otherwise, in the left pane, select Prepare State
  4. Proceed through the screens until you come to the Status of your state returns screen
  5. Select Edit to the right of Arizona
  6. Proceed through the state screens until, late in the state interview, you come to the Estimated Taxes for 2024 screen
  7. If you didn't make estimated payments in the past, and you don't expect your Arizona income to be at least $150,000 next year, select No

If this doesn't correct your issue, post a screen shot of the page you describe in your original post, and provide any other information that you can, including the following:

  • Did you make estimated payments in the past?
  • Do you expect your Arizona income to be at least $150,000 next year?
