First time filing a Missouri Non resident State Return

I work in Kansas City, Missouri grading AP World History essays for ETS (College Board) for 7 days. This is my first time in Missouri. On my income (which is not from Missouri) it says Adjusted Gross Missouri income. Did I mess something up or is it supposed to say this? It looks like it is taxing me on my income from Texas.

s a part-year resident, you generally have the option of claiming a Missouri resident credit or Missouri income percentage.  TurboTax will calculate the better option- in this case because Texas does not have income tax you most likely have the Missouri income percentage which needs the Texas amounts to determine the tax on the Missouri only portion.

One more question... (I'm asking this because in Utah where we worked the last year...same scenario, I got money back.)

Kansas City Wage Earner Return Earnings Tax. Do I have to pay this also?

Yes, since you worked in Kansas City, you will need to pay this also.

Always prepare the NON-resident state return first before you prepare the return for the state you live in.
