Filing of non resident tax return

I completed a non resident tax return using Turbo Tax.  Will those forms be sent to the state?

Yes, TurboTax (TT) will e-file the CA return, if YOU select e-file and pay the extra TT fee ($19.99; $24.99 after Feb 29) to e-file state.  This is in addition to the fee, you paid,  to prepare the state return.

Only federal e-filing is free.

For which state are you a non-resident? Were you not able to e-file?

I am a resident of Washington State.   I filled out my Fed and state return using turbo tax. I know I can e-file the Fed return but don't know if I can e-file the state.   If TT doesn't e-file the state, then I suppose I have to print it and mail it right?

So I assume that you worked in another state than Washington, since Washington does not have an income tax.

Unless you have a particular problem with your state, you should be able to e-file your state return. It generally doesn't make a difference if it is a resident or nonresident return.

I am a resident of Washington state.  I was never a resident of Cal., but  have to file a non resident return to Cal for 2019  I just wanted to know if Turbo Tax will e-file that return to Cal when I e-file my Fed return and is it a free filing or what?
