The Virginia 529 contributions can be entered under income when filing your Virginia return.  To enter follow these steps:

  • Sign in to TurboTax
  • Go to State Return
  • Under Income, scroll down to Education
  • Select Start next to Commonwealth Savers (Section 529)

Thanks for the quick response.  I was able to enter the contributions. I was surprised that the carryover from 2023 did not transfer automatically.

I am following those steps and am not seeing that option. I see options for distribution only like the 1099Q. But none for contribution under Education
