Electronic Filing and Payment of Virginia State Taxes And Form VA-8453

I did my Federal and VA State taxes with TurboTax Deluxe, and ended up owing over $3000 to VA State Income Tax, and was told I must pay them electronically...I paid them thru the TurboTax Bank Transfer process (EFT/ACH), and am hoping that is OK....

Question: What is the deal with the VA-8453 form...Online it is saying we need to sign that within a day of the tax submission being accepted...but that form doesn't seem to be filled out in the final printed version...

Can anyone tell me what this form is all about, what I need to do with it, and why it's so darn confusing??

Thanks

Some states require you keep of copy of the signed form with your tax records.    But if your returns have been accepted, you are done and can ignore that message.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Can you explain what this form is for, and why I would have never had to deal with this before?

Thanks!

This is actually a form you have to print to sign and then keep with your tax return.  It is possible you just never noticed it before.

so what is the point of this form if self-filing, I sign a form to authorize myself to pay my taxes but don't give it to anyone?  I've filed in VA using TT for 10 years, never heard of this form, seems totally useless?
