Yes, you can mail in the state copy of the form. You can check your state website, contact the Department of Revenue, for a state version of the form 8453. You can mail it in with the forms. This lets the state know that you e-filed your return but have supporting paperwork.
There are instances when paperwork should be mailed in after filing. For the federal Form 8453 and the instructions.
Hi Amy,
You say I can file my 1099-R after I e-file my PA return. Is it mandatory that I submit the 1099-R form? I ask because other members of the community said that filing is not necessary so long as I e-file my federal tax return with the 1099-R information included. Any clarity on this issue will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
John
