E-filing failing for New York State tax

Hi,

I am using a mac. The e-filing failing fails for NY state tax at the transmitting state. In particular I get an error claiming. "Turbotax was unable to send your return to the Intuit Electronic Filing Center, for the following reason:cancelled
Looks like we've had a technical hiccup"

My software is up to date. I know others are having similar problems (https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/taxes/discussion/re-received-the-follo[product key removed]tax-was-unable-to-send-your-return-to-the-intuit-electronic/01/2278991#M817727) and there are files for windows that supposedly fix this issue. What's going on here and can I file by mail? turbotax tells me that new york does not allow people that file via a software to file by mail so...

There's no penalty to file by mail, especially if you have a technical reason that is preventing you from e-filing.  You can file an extension to give extra time to resolve the issue, or you can contact customer service to see if there's a workaround, update, or patch they have available.

Thanks for the response Daniel. I was on the phone with two separate costumer support staff for +2 hrs total (to their credit they were very supportive.) I ended up filing by mail as you have suggested.
