Yes. TurboTax allows you to adjust your Detroit earnings in the Detroit City section.

  • On the screen Detroit Wages, click Edit next to your W-2
  • On Detroit Wage Adjustment, select Working Days Allocation
  • On Allocation of Detroit Wages, enter Total Vacation, Holidays, Sick Days, and Other Days not Worked and Total Days Worked in Detroit
  • Enter your explanation

I did this but there was no other change.  I entered 260 for total days and 50 for days worked in Detroit.  It then showed 210 non working days.  Doing this did not allow me to E-file my state form which I paid for and when I printed out the form it did not show the % of days or the adjusted income.  I think I understand my mistake now due to the poor wording on the tax form but how can I make the change in the online form?  It will only give me access to my federal form and that cant be amended.  How can I update my state and city form that I had to print off because it wouldn't let me efile?  Thanks

When you sign in to your return follow these steps to make the changes and efile the return. Be sure you enter the vacation, non-working days as well in the correct box.

  1. In TurboTax Online, sign in to your account.
  2. Select Tax Home in the left menu.
  3. Scroll down to Your tax returns & documents.
  4. Select 2020, and then select Add a State (you're not actually adding a state, this just gets you into the right area).
  5. Once in the account you can make the necessary changes in the state return
  6. Select File in the left menu (expand your browser window if you don't see this, or select the menu icon in the top left corner).
  7. On the Just one more step screen, follow steps 1 and 2 if you haven't already.
  8. Select the Start button to the right of Step 3.
  9. On the Let's get ready to e-file screen, select I want to e-file.
  10. Follow the instructions to e-file your return.
