Does north carolina allow unreimbursed employee business expenses to be deducted on state return and if so, where do you enter it?

No. Unreimbursed employee business expenses are no longer an itemized deduction to North Carolina taxpayers. The IRS eliminated this deduction as part of the changes to the tax laws and it is not an available deduction to North Carolina taxpayers on their state tax return.
