Does living on campus in another state make me a non resident?

I live in Minnesota but go to school in Illinois and have a job there as well does that make me a non-resident or a resident when filing taxes in Illinois?

Yes. Being away attending college is considered a temporary absence. You will file a resident Minnesota return and a Non-Resident Illinois return.
