Do I need to file in California as a non resident? I think no but TurboTax makes it seem like I do...HELP PLEASE

I am a NJ resident who worked in California for a few days this past year. My total income for the year was $70,000 of which, I made $1,000 while working in California. Based on the fact that I am a non resident of California and my income from all sources of CALIFORNIA income is less than the amounts shows in this chart (https://www.ftb.ca.gov/forms/2018-California-Tax-Rates-and-Exemptions.shtml#ifr) do I need to file? I would think no; however, the TurboTax software says I should file. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Was there any California withholdings ( when you worked in CA)?  How many days did you live in CA?  Are you a W-2 employee or self-employed/ contractor/consultant ?

Thanks so much. Yes I had CA withholdings on my federal W2 but apparently not enough.

@Matthew   You should file  so you can get your withholding back and/or to close the CA earnings declaration.  Note that CA would get a copy of the federal return

You are required to file a CA tax return because you have CA source income and your total income is above the filing threshold.  You would not be required to file only if all your income was below those income amounts, not just CA source income.
