Do I need to file a MA state tx return?

I live in RI, and have never lived in Mass. I received a 1099-R from Mass due to a death in the family (From a Trust). The 1099-R has box 15 as MA with a Payers ID number, and Box 16 has a value in it. Do I need to file a Mass state return? Thanks in advance,   joe

Maybe.  If you're a nonresident with an annual Massachusetts gross income of more than either $8,000 or the prorated personal exemption, whichever is less, you must file a Massachusetts tax return.
