Do I have to send documents into dept of revenue Wisconsin after e file homestead credit claim

No, you do not have to send in documentation to Wisconsin after claiming the Homestead Credit. You are able to upload the necessary documentation in TurboTax before you e-file your return. 

 

Per the State of Wisconsin, you must submit a copy of your 2023 property tax bill (if you owned and occupied your home) or an original rent certificate signed by your landlord (if you rented your home) along with your Schedule H or H-EZ. 

 

In order to upload the documentation, please follow the instructions below: 

  1. Go back into your state return and get to the screen titled A few things before we wrap up your state taxes. 
  2. Scroll down to Required PDF Attachments
  3. Click Start
  4. On the following screens, you will be able to upload a copy of your property tax bill or closing statement.
