Direct deposit of Illinois refund

I am trying to efile my Illinois return and it won't let me direct deposit the refund. It states that Illinois does not allow deposit of refunds the first year filing an Illinois return. I have filed an Illinois return EVERY year since Illinois has had an income tax. I've entered (actually TT did it for me) my AGI from my prior year return. Something is wrong with the program as it is not allowing me to enter banking info to deposit my refund.

Go back to the Illinois portion of your return and make sure you answered the question correctly about if you have filed an Illinois return previously.

I did - as well as completing the AGI from prior year return. I've decided I'll just have my refund applied to next year's estimate - then I don't have to worry about it.

I was having the same problem. I was able to get the direct deposit to flow to the tax return by changing from Easy Step to Forms. Going to Illinios forms in the panel on the right. Click the down arrow next to to Illinois forms. Then select info worksheet and enter the information in Part VI, checked for errors, no error found. Selected IL 1040 on the panel on the right and verified the information flowed to the refund section of the return.

That worked great for me.  Thank you.  I called TT Customer Service first.  And they had absolutely no idea.

@RDD1

Thank you for pointing out that this is in the Info Worksheet.  (I kept clicking on the checkboxes in the IL-1040 and they did nothing.)

Thanks. It helped.

One thing to add.... We need to override the inputs to enter Bank details. Once done , during review TurboTax asks to cancel override (But that is just FYI) , I ignored that.
