Did I just receive an incorrect "Tax Computation Notice" from the state of Maryland? The "Total Maryland Tax Withheld" line is blank. This is contrary to my W2.

So I received in the mail a "State of Maryland Personal Income Tax Computation Notice." All the numbers actually check out with my tax return, until we get to the line where it's supposed to state "Total Maryland Tax Withheld." This line is blank. This is incorrect because my W2 has in it's box 17 a very large amount for the "State income tax" which was obviously withheld. I also have paychecks that reflect this amount.

I've sent an email but haven't called yet since it's the weekend. I'm wondering if anyone here knows what might be up with this? This seems quite odd.

The notice must tell you how to respond if you do NOT agree to the changes ... you may need to send in a copy of the W2 with your written response if you cannot get anyone on the phone.

Hmm it didn't have anything that relates to disagreements. There is a phone number so I guess I just have to call on Monday to find out. Sigh. Thanks for the help, hopefully it really is something as simple as providing them with my W2.
