Deferred Compensation Payment after I moved to a different state

Hi,

I received my first deferred compensation payment from a former employer.  At the time I was living in NJ and now live in Ohio. The payments are spread over a 10 year period.  They withheld NJ state income taxes from my check and I listed this on TurboTax,  Do I need to file a NJ Non-Resident tax form to get these taxes refunded?  What are my options?  Thank you for your help.

Yes, you will need to file a nonresident state return for the state of New Jersey to claim a refund. You need to complete this return before you complete your other state return.
