Connecticut shows it is accepting tax returns since the 18th. I filed mine on the 22nd. Why is it still showing pending?

@ Ddetuzzi

An efiled state return cannot be accepted until a Federal return has been accepted.   In the meantime the state return will show as "pending."

At the Tax Home what is the status of your efiled Federal return?    Is it still showing pending, or accepted, rejected, etc.?    The IRS won't officially start accepting/rejecting efiled Federal returns until February 12.  They may take a few returns prior to that for testing purposes.

Once they start processing, if the IRS rejects your Federal return for some reason, the state return will also reject.

If the IRS accepts your Federal return, then the state return is sent on to your state tax agency for an accepted/rejected decision.

Thank you for replying. It still shows pending for both federal and State.

You're welcome.  That's normal for this point in early filing season until the IRS ramps up.   This year the IRS opening is about 2.5 weeks later than it usually is.   Good luck!

The IRS will begin accepting federal tax returns on Friday, February 12.
