I sent both my Federal tax returns and California FTB tax returns on the same day through Certified Mail w/ tracking + return receipt.
The Federal tax return tracking shows as "delivered".
However the California tax return tracking in is limbo since past 4 days and only says "Moving Through Network/ In Transit to Next facility, Arriving Late"
The city of Sacramento is 2 hours away so there is no "next facility" it has to go to since its local to California.
I had received notice to send FTB 5822 to:
State of California
Filing Enforcement Section MS F180
FRANCHISE TAX BOARD
P.O Box 942840
Sacramento, CA [removed]
I am concerned as the notice mentions I need to respond by 10/15.
Has anyone else had this issue with Certified mail for their State tax returns?
