Cannot progress beyond Principal Residence page without entering a county

Hello, I'm trying to file my California taxes. My principal residence is now out of the country, and in the instructions it says to leave the "Select your County in California" section blank when entering an international address. However, when I do that the page comes up with an error message that says "Please enter your county of principal residence." If anyone knows how to get around this please let me know. Thank you!

Sound like a TurboTax bug/oversight.  I can suggest a few things to try:

 

(a) pick any county to proceed, then later edit the CA return and see if you can reset it to blank.

(b) pick any county to proceed, then use the Tools->Forms option to go to a CA worksheet or form and erase the county name if possible.

(c) pick any county to proceed, and choose to print and US mail the return and use white-out to blank the field.
