Cannot change phone number in intuits system or skip phone verification for alternate means of verification when attempting to e-file

To update your number in TurboTax Online:

1. Log into your TurboTax Online account
2. In the left pane, select Intuit Account
3. Select Sign in and Security 
4. Select the arrow to the right of Phone  
5. Beneath Add your phone, select Change
6. Enter your new phone number on the Add your phone screen
7. Select Save
8. Proceed as appropriate on the Verify your phone and subsequent screens
