Can't e-file

I have finished my NY state return.  It tells me I cannot e-file for some reason.  It is stating that I took a credit for solar carryover credit.  I cannot find this in the state return to correct it.  The program continues to change my answer to a question making it seem like I need to complete a form.  This form does not apply to me and I can't get the "no" answer to remain.

The "carryover" portion of the question suggests that this is a credit for which you qualified in a prior year, but were not able to use.

 

If you are confident that there is no such credit carryover related to your tax return, you can use the "Delete a form" feature to delete a NY state schedule that should not be in your tax return:

  1. Open or continue your return in TurboTax.
  2. In the left menu, select Tax Tools and then Tools.
  3. In the pop-up window Tool Center, choose Delete a form.
  4. Scroll down the list to the NY state forms to identify any schedule related to a solar credit or solar carryover.
  5. If you are unsure, you may want to view a PDF of your NY state return, with all the worksheets, to identify the unneeded schedule to delete.
  6. Select Delete next to the unneeded form/schedule/worksheet in the list and follow the instructions.
