Can I take credit for a 529 in Indiana for what I contributed to my grandchildren 529 plan? If I take a deduction, can the parents also take a deduction?

You may be eligible for a 20% state tax credit, up to a maximum of $1,500 ($750 for Married Filing Separately) for contributions to Indiana’s CollegeChoice 529 Savings Plan. While there are many 529 college savings plans available both in Indiana and nation-wide, only contributions made to this specific CollegeChoice 529 Savings Plans are eligible for this credit.

If you contributed for your grand-children, you can take the tax credit. The parents can take the credit for contributions that they make to this Plan for their children.
