Can anyone tell me what Dividend Income Worksheet: Payer has too many characters is referencing on my Iowa state tax filing that is stopping my ability to file?

certain "Payer" names cannot be too long for Iowa tax returns:

Go back to the Federal section, and EDIT the original "Payer" entry for every 1099-DIV you find there.

Make sure the name of the company that paid $$ to you (or to your account) has a shorter name.

Make it simple....chop some words off.....Fidelity Investments = Fidelity, or abbreviate.....Corporation = Corp, Company = Co...etc.

Similar edits might also be needed on various 1099-INT forms,
