California use tax calculation

I put in a $4.99 purchase with no california sales tax in the Turbotax use tax table.  It came up with zero use tax.  Is this correct?

Probably.

Most tax rates in California are at the least 7%.  Therefore, if you entered $4.99 as a purchase, your tax would have been approximately $0.35 which would round to zero.  Therefore, nothing would be reportable on your tax return.

Please see the link below for more information on the Sales & Use Tax and how it is calculated based upon where you reside.
