California State Amendment for 2023 can't e-file because Intuit Electronic Filing Center is closed after Oct, 31, 2024

I realized a big mistake in my 2023 state return when doing my 2024 return. I tried to send the amendment through e-file, but I get an error message from TurboTax desktop that it can't do e-file anymore and that I need to print and mail in the amendment. Seems odd that CA allows e-file but TT is refusing.  Is there any way around this?

The printed amendment is 60 pages that includes state and fed forms. Do I include all of these?

E-filing is permanently closed for 2023 returns using do-it-yourself TT software.   Some paid tax pros using professional tax software can e-file a 2023 return, but you cannot do that using TT.  Your 2023 amended return must be mailed.Choose to file it by mail and it will print out the pages you need to send.  It will not be sixty pages!

Thanks. When I select to print out the amendment, it is 61 pages. That includes the fed and the state. Maybe because CA requires the fed to be included with the state forms. Nothing has changed on the fed, so I wonder if I need to include it again?

I also noticed that when I choose to print instead of e-file, the direct deposit information is no longer on the forms. Should I write the direct deposit info on the forms or do I need to leave blank and get mailed a refund?

I would include the federal with the state since it is a requirement, even if nothing changed.  If you want direct deposit for the federal refund you can write the information on the form.
