California income allocation Form NR540

I worked the first 2 months of the year  in California for a California employer - the rest of the year I worked in my home state of Ohio.     When I file my NR540 can I prorate my w2 between Ohio and California?    I think I prorate it on line 1 in column E.

Any advice is appreciated

Yes. Prorate you income between California and Ohio. You only have to pay California tax on income you earned while you lived and worked in California.

TurboTax will show the total adjusted income from your W-2s and ask you how much of that amount was earned while living and working in California. Enter the California portion. Do the same when you get to Ohio.
