CA taxes. What are the Sch A deductions accepted in CA? I don't want to fill out the entire form if I don't need to. .Mortgage interest is one item. thanks

California follows the Federal Itemized deductions to a point, but does not allow you to deduct state taxes on the California return.  There are some variances, as this website shows:  https://www.ftb.ca.gov/current/Income-tax-reform.shtml, but in general you claim the same deductions on the Federal return (charitable deductions, etc.) as what you would on the Federal return (and you may itemize in CA even if you take the standard deduction on the Federal return).
