Apparently, my turbotax form SD 100, my Adj. Gross income, is incorrect and any amount I enter from my W2 seems to be wrong. It keeps telling me to fix this error.

I don't know where to find this amount. If turbotax couldn't find it in all of the information I entered, how am I supposed to find it?

"It keeps telling me to fix this error."

Where is TurboTax telling you this? In the state review? Somewhere else?

I'm encountering this too.

When performing checks on my Ohio Return, it says it has found a problem that needs to be corrected. Once I select the option to "Fix this", I'm taken to the proper SD 100 form with a single field that I can enter an amount into, it says "Adj. gross income". When looking at my return from last year, it appears to simply be Box 1 from my W2. Nothing has changed in my filing status.

@tlewis2,

 Not sure if this will help you or not, but I ended up going back to my state return, deleting my School District form, then completing it again. When I got to the boxes that were about AGI, it had a recommended amount to enter. I did so, then finished the rest of the questions, and this time didn't receive any errors when submitting.

Sorry if these instructions are light, since I've submitted, I can't get back into my return. I'm guessing I fat fingered something.. anyway. I hope this is helpful!

The school district usually taxes based on your state income. There is an alternative method of taxing, using Earned Income. Please see page 4 Guide to Ohio's School District Income Tax - Ohio DOR to see if this describes your circumstances.

You can log in and check your account at School District Income Tax - Ohio Department of Taxation

The post above has a great response if it is AGI based. Let us know if you still need help.

I had one error for my school distric (SD). I am not sure you have the same error but essentially is says

... modified adjusted gross income less exemptions is incorrect. I called Turbotax and they could not help me fix the error. I had a copy of my federal and state returns and when I looked at the state return line 3 is Ohio adjusted gross income and line 4 is exemption amount. Line 5 is Ohio income tax base. If you ignore Ohio, you have adjusted gross income less exemptions with the difference on line 5. I put this amount into the SD and the error was fixed. Hope this is your problem also. As an aside, I tried to use the federal and found you take AGI and adjust for all kinds of things to get the modified adjusted gross income but I only had tax exempt interest, which of course did not work because the answer is from the state return.

I think the answer is adjusted gross income from the state return less exemptions, which on line 5 is modified adjusted gross income less exemptions.

I am not sure if this is what your looking for but I possibly encountered the same problem and the solution came form the Ohio return where it shows modified adjusted gross income less exemptions and on line 5 the difference is what corrected the SD 100 error.

I'm having the same problem but your answer has confused me even more. How can you get those numbers before TT generates the state return?

Can you clarify if you are using TurboTax Online or TurboTax Desktop.  We can assist based on which version you are using.
