Amending taxes - Just received Schedule K-1 from Nebraska. We live in KS and wife works in MO- why would we have to pay taxes to KS and MO when K-1 income is from NE

Turbotax is requiring me to amend my Missouri (MO) and Kansas (KS) tax returns for a business where all income was made in Nebraska, and my wife is just a limited partner with no participation in the business. And the result is we owe MO and KS more tax money. Why?

Since all your income is taxed in your resident state, adding any income can impact your Kansas return, as well as your Federal return.

For your spouse's non-resident Missouri return, adding Nebraska income to your Federal return may change the federal AGI carried over to start the MO calculations, but should have no tax affect, since no MO income was added.
