18 year old college student filed her own taxes and accidentally clicked "no one can claim me".

She received an approved e-file right away.  I filed same day but after her claiming her as my dependent.   My e-file was rejected stating something to the effect I could not claim her as dependent as she is already claimed.  I could not reach anyone by phone so I was advised by turbotax to mail  my return in postmarked before end of 4/15.  Mailed 3:30 pm 4/15.    Have not received confirmation of receipt or in process or anything.  Although my State Refund mailed the same way did arrive.

Should I ask my daughter to amend her e-filed  return to dependent ?   Would this help when they finally process my paper return?   Thank you.

She must amend her return since the IRS will not allow you to claim her if she said no one could claim her. Unfortunately it will take as much as 6 months for the IRS to sort it out.
