1099R Line 14 State Tax Withheld Not Showing on MD Line 40 Total Maryland and local tax withheld

1099R Line 14 State Tax Withheld Not Showing on MD Line 40 Total Maryland and local tax withheld.  How do I enter on my MD Tax form?  I can't see this option. 

 

40. Total Maryland and local tax withheld (Enter total from your W-2 and 1099 forms and attach if MD tax is withheld.) ......................................... 

 

There is no problem with the Federal  Payments  25 b Form(s) 1099.

Also

On the actual 1099-R in the tax software?....make sure that "MD" is in the first part of box 15.

Especially for Picture entry, or PDF uploads of tax forms....there can be a whole bunch of errors in the AI interpretation in that type of entry...EDIT every tax form done that way to make sure every box is correct.

 It would be helpful to have a TurboTax token.  The token provides a sanitized version of your return.  We will be able to see the numbers but not any personal information such as your name, SSN, or address.  

 

If you would like to do this, here are the instructions: 

 

In TurboTax Online, go to the black panel on the left side of your program and select Tax Tools. 

  1. Then select Tools below Tax Tools. 
  2. A window will pop up which says Tools Center.  
  3. On this screen, select Share my file with Agent. 
  4. You will see a message explaining what the diagnostic copy is.  Click okay through this screen, and you will get a Token number. 

In TurboTax CD/Download versions, go to the black panel on your screen and select Online. 

  1. Scroll down and select Send tax file to Agent. 
  2. You will see a message explaining what the diagnostic copy is.  Click send through this screen, and you will get a Token number. 

Reply to this thread with your Token number. 

 

We will then be able to see precisely what you are seeing, and we can determine what exactly is going on in your return and provide you with a resolution.

How do I see the 1099-R in Turbotax? 

 

On UBS 1099-R PDF Line 15 clearly has MD.

I found the problem.  I State Tax With held was mistakenly enter under 16 State distribution.

Yeah, the PDF may have MD in the right spot, but that doesn't mean it ended up in the correct spot on the software form.  The computer software has to "interpret" where to put every box entry and can make some major mistakes.

 

To see the actual form....you navigate back to the section where it is input  :

<Federal

<<Wages&Income

 

Find the 1099-R you already entered on that page and EDIT it.
