1099 COPY 1

I completed my 1099's, printed and pressed submit.  I have 1099 's for my contractors.  I can see that I have efiled for federal.  But It also printed out Copy 1 for  North Carolina.  I did not make any withholding for North Carolina.  I see that another post say.... that reads file if required.  What is required?  What does this mean?  As I did no withholding do I trash these.  Or will they be filed with no tax withheld?

No, you do not need to file your 1099-MISC statements with the North Carolina Department of Revenue if there was no North Carolina withholding.

See this NCDOR website for that guidance.
