MCTR Originally Owed Tax and now I don't

Hello,

I originally filed my taxes on Jan 26, 2023. At this time, Turbotax didn't handle MCTR correctly at the federal level.  I owed a total of $156.00 for Federal. Using Turbotax, I paid for my federal refund using my credit card.

My tax returns were then rejected.

I re-filed today, using Turbotax's updated system, and my Federal refund is now $9, but I've already paid $156.

How do I get my $156 refunded to me? I opened a case with Turbotax support, and they simply sent me a link for a refund of Turbotax, not for the $156 I paid in taxes.

Per the IRS website: You get an overpayment credit when your tax payments exceed what you owe. You'll automatically receive a refund of the credit. However, you can ask us to apply the credit as an advance payment towards next year's taxes instead of sending it to you as a refund.
