Is there an example of how to enter a supplies or misc expense? For example, can I just put in "Home Depot Purchase, $95.00"?

I'm a furniture maker, and often my purchases are at places like lumber yards or Home Depot where I purchase multiple different things on the same receipt. How do I enter these in the description tab on the turbotax page? Right now I have it as "Home Depot Purchase". This is my first year operating and I would just like to do it right. Thank you!

Yes, you are off to a good start.  The key to filing your taxes is to have good documentation!

You have the choice of listing every individual piece that you purchased or just entering Supplies and lumping it all together.  The key is that if the IRS asks about those supplies, you have the documentation to support them.
