I have received some 1099NECs for self employment income that are also being reported on a 1099k from my payment system. Where and how do i make these corrections?

Receiving the same income reported on both 1099-NEC and 1099-K can cause confusion with the IRS, as it may appear that you have received more income than you actually did. To correct this, follow these steps:

Contact the Issuing Company

Explain the Situation:

  • Contact the company that issued the 1099-NEC and 1099-K forms.
  • Explain that the same income has been reported on both forms, which may cause confusion with the IRS.

Request Corrected Forms:

  • Ask the company to issue corrected forms to accurately reflect your income.
  • Ensure they understand the need to avoid duplicate reporting.
