I have a 1099-NEC with a TIN. The 1099-NEC Worksheet asks for an EIN. What do I do?

The 1099-NEC is from payment from my Only Fans and only provides a TIN. When I enter the TIN in the place on the worksheet that asks for the EIN it comes back as an error and won't let me submit my taxes. What do I do?

Remove the 1099-NEC and add it as self employment income without using the 1099-NEC. This will remove your error and also include the income as part of your self employment income on Schedule C.

Use the link below to delete Form 1099-NEC for your TurboTax version.

  • If you're using TurboTax Online software and need to delete a form, click here.
  • If you're using TurboTax Desktop software and need to delete a form, click here.

Enter the income using the steps below and select Other self-employed income as indicated.

  1. Open or continue your return.
  2. Navigate to the Schedule C section:
    • TurboTax Online/Mobile: Go to Schedule C.
    • TurboTax Desktop: Search for Schedule C and select the Jump to link.
  3. Answer Yes on the Did you have any self-employment income or expenses? screen.
    • If you land on the Your 2024 self-employed work summary page, select Review next to the work you're adding income for.
  4. Answer the questions on the following screens until you arrive at Let's enter the income for your work.
  5. Select Other self-employed income and select Continue.
  6. On the next page you can enter any cash, personal checks, credit card payments, or cryptocurrency (Form 1099-K) related to your self-employment.
