I formed a new business(August 2024) but have not performed any work in 2024 therefor no income. Should I just chose Self Employed Income and put in zero?

If your business is up and running and attempting to earn a profit in 2024 then you can go ahead and enter expenses for the year.  

If you had no income or expenses or you weren't actually open for business quite yet then you should wait and enter everything in 2025.
