I am hairstylist and now receive w-2 so not really the same sole proprietorship as last year. I received the W-2 this year can I still deduct my cost like scissors?

I have cost like scissors, trimmers and materials. Even though the income was reported on W-2 can I deduct these expenses through schedule c?

No, unfortunately, you cannot deduct job-related expenses on your federal income tax in 2022.  You may be able to deduct in your state return.  See Workplace Expenses For Tax Year 2022.

You can only deduct expenses on your Schedule C of you are self-employed or a statutory employee.
