How to report 1099 NEC for Election Worker compensation? None of the options afford this.

IRS Publication 17 page 75 reports election precinct official as Other Income.

 

To report an IRS form 1099-NEC income as Other Income in TurboTax Online, follow these steps:

 

  • Select Federal from the left side menu.
  • Select Wages & Income from the left side of the menu.
  • Scroll down to Other Common Income.  Click down arrow to the right.
  • Click Start / Revisit to the right of 1099-NEC.
  • Select Hobby at the screen What type of income is on your 1099-NEC?

The entry will be reported:

 

  • on line 8z of Schedule 1 of the Federal 1040 tax return, and 
  • on line 8 of the Federal 1040 tax return.
