How do I correctly enter my 1099-MISC information when it wasn't from a job but was from my personal investment account as substitute payments in lieu of dividends?

I received a 1099-MISC from my brokerage firm. The other income is not from a job, which TurboTax is leading me to classify it as. I just want to make sure I am entering the other income accurately and not trigger a Schedule C.

You need to enter the Form 1099-Misc and when asked, indicate that the money was not from a job similar to your regular work, that you didn't receive the funds in a previous or future years, and you did not have a profit motive to earn the  income. You enter the Form 1099-Misc in the Wages and Income section of TurboTax, then 1099-Misc and other common income.
