How do I complete Schedule C to add income from a sole proprietor LLC for 2024 taxes?

This is my first year with Intuit Premium, and the profit/loss questionnaire collects info from the profit-loss statement but does not generate Schedule C in the return.

To report your self employment income and expenses:

  1. Open your return
  2. Go to Income and Expenses
  3. Go to Self-employment income and expenses
  4. Answer Yes to Did you have any self-employment income or expenses?
  5. If you land on the screen Your 2024 self-employed work summary select Edit next to line of work.
  6. Click on Add income for this work.  

Where do I enter Schedule C?

If you received form 1099-NEC or 1099-MISC and started reporting that form, TurboTax will ask you questions about your 1099 income and generate Schedule C.

Income from schedule C goes on schedule 1(Form 1040)  Additional Income line 3. Additional Income from schedule 1, line 10 goes on  form 1040 line 8. 

 

To preview Schedule 1

  1. From the left rail menu in TurboTax Online, select Tax Tools (You may have to scroll down on the left rail menu.)
  2. Select Tax Tools .On the drop-down select Tools 
  3. On the pop-up menu titled “Tools Center”, select View Tax Summary 
  4. On the left sidebar, select Preview my 1040 
  5. Scroll down to see schedule 1
