Since you are an employee, your SIMPLE IRA contributions are reported on your W-2 in Box 12 with code S. You only need to enter this information in the W-2 section of TurboTax

If your contributions are note on your W-2 to add your SIMPLE IRA contributions through your employer in TurboTax, you need to look at Box 12 on your W-2 form. The contributions will be reported with code S in Box 12. Here’s how to enter this information:

  1. Open TurboTax and navigate to the "Federal Taxes" section.
  2. Select "Income".
  3. Choose "W-2" and start entering your W-2 information.
  4. When you reach Box 12, enter the code S and the amount of your SIMPLE IRA contributions (only enter this if this is how it appears on your W-2)
