Filing estimated tax in 2018 and applying it to TurboTax 2018 tax

I had an accountant do my taxes last year (2017). I had about 4k+ coming back to me (state & Fed), but he had 1/4 of it direct deposited into my checking and the remaining amount applied to quarterly estimated tax payments in 2018. I'm using Turbotax this year (I have both W2 and 1099s), how do I find/apply the estimated tax paid in 2018 to my 2018 Fed/State tax returns using Turbotax?

If you made estimated tax payments in 2018 towards your federal, state, or local taxes,  enter them in the Estimated and Other Income Taxes Paid section.

  1. Search for the term estimated tax payments
  2. Select the Jump to link.
  3. Choose Start next to the type of estimated tax payment you'd like to enter.
  4. Enter the amount of estimated tax you paid at each of the quarterly due dates.

OR:

  • Federal Taxes tab (Personal for Home & Business)
  • Then choose top tab Deductions & Credits.
  • At the Tax Breaks screen choose to display All Tax Breaks.
  • Scroll down to topic Estimates and Other Taxes Paid.
  • Expand that section then choose  subtopic Estimated Tax Payment
