Do I have multiple jobs for one line of work/industry or are each job their own line of work/industry?

If I teach, instruct, & educate adults in computer software, use some of that software in film/video work, work as crew in the theater, and act as a patient at a doctor visit for medical college students, is that multiple jobs in one line of work/industry (one Schedule C) or multiple jobs in multiple lines of work/industries (multiple Schedule Cs) ?

Hi sarifnon,

This is a subjective determination that you have the best idea how "closely related" these activities are.

If they are unrelated activities, then each should be reported on separate Schedule Cs. You just cannot combine two activities for the purpose of hiding a loss from one of the activities.

From you description, it seems to me there are two themes:

* teach/instruct/educate/use a computer software;

*theatre/acting - either working as a crew, or be an actor.

Hope this helps. Thank you.
