Can I add my previous tax return fee under the DoorDash expenses "Legal and professional fees"

I get an option to add this fees when filing tax using turbo tax, I did add this for my last year tax filing as well. But still want to confirm that can I use the fees that I paid to prepare the tax using turbo tax under the "Legal and professional fees". As under the option it does show any tax filling fees.

Your help is appreciated.

You can add any fees there that were paid for your business.  So, in the case of TurboTax fees, you can add all of them if the tax return would have been free to file except that you had to have that schedule C for Door Dash.  But if you would have had to pay the same fees even if you hadn't had Door Dash on there then they weren't business related fees.

Thank you for your reply. So since Doordash is included in the tax filling, i can add the tax filling amount as fees (for filling year). Is that correct ? As in my final check turbo tax gives an alert saying food delivery does not generally have legal or other fees.

The alert is telling you that it is unusual for food delivery service to pay legal or other fees.

It may not be correct for you to claim all of your tax return fees as a business expense.  Since there is not a breakdown in the part of the fee that was used to file the Schedule C on its own, the only way you can claim the tax return fee as a business expense is if you could have filed your return for free if you did not have to include your Schedule C, as stated by RoberB4444.

However, if you would have had to pay a fee to file your return in 2024 anyway even if there was not a Schedule C for DoorDash, then you cannot claim the TurboTax fee as a business expense.
