1099-MISC Royalty income from self-published book on KDP. I did not do it to make money-ie Hobby. How do I enter box 2 amount of $70.00 correctly? Expenses were much more

This is the only book I have ever published. I do not intend to make money from it, and is such a small amount. Do I record it in the "1099-MISC Income"? or in the "Less Common Income"-Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A 1099-C--Hobby Income and expenses? I have seen responses both ways and I am confused.

You should report it in the hobby section that you mention. You would have to have a profit motive for it not to be considered a hobby. You cannot deduct costs associated with hobby income in 2024.
