Will opening 401K or IRA help reduce my taxes? I work part time & company has no retirement plan. When is the last day to open a 401K or IRA for 2016 tax returns filing?

The last day to contribute to a 401(k) was Dec,31 2016.

You can contribute to a Traditional IRA for 2016 before April 18, 2017.
