The virginia "Where's my refund?" tool still reports "processing" a year later and no refund was ever deposited into my bank account, and my virginia online account also shows that the refund is still "processing" and I never received a 1099-G. I'm scarred because I don't want to get audited for failing to report the income I was supposed to receive but never actually did. Oh the joys of being a peasant!
You are reporting what happened in 2021. No refund, no tax entry--- that simple. Get it this year, report on next return.
You need the information regarding your Virginia state refund/1099G only if you have itemized your deduction.
If you have taken a Standard deduction you do not have to worry about a Virginia state refund.
sorry LoganathanB, i don't really like this answer as much. why does it matter if I itemized my deduction? I never received a 1099-G, never received a refund, and virginia tax website says it's still "processing" for a whole year, so there is nothing to report if I'm not mistaken whether or not i am itemizing my deductions. I emailed virginia tax people and they don't even respond to peasants like me. one time i was late paying my virginia taxes maybe a month or two and virginia fined me thousands of dollars. when they don't process my refund for a whole year, i only get head aches. i hate being a peasant.
